Battlefield 2042 players call for Portal XP to be brought back - Charlie INTEL

Battlefield 2042 devs severely limited Portal XP to counter farming modes, but players are desperate to see the change reverted.

DICE almost entirely disabled progression in Battlefield 2042 Portal after it was used to farm XP, but players are calling for it to return after the change turned players away from the mode.

Battlefield 2042 Portal brings content from previous Battlefield games together, where players can create their own unique modes for the community to play. Many regard it as one of 2042’s best modes, but players were quick to use it to farm XP.

DICE were even quicker to limit Portal progression, where you now hardly earn any points when playing in custom matches. However, players are now fed up with not earning any XP and believe it’s hurting the mode’s player count.

When Battlefield 2042 first launched in Early Access, the Portal server browser was full of XP farm modes. These had loads of bots on minimal health, so players could rack up an incredible amount of kills and points.

DICE and Ripple Effect quickly countered the XP farms, drastically limiting the amount of XP you can earn in Portal. However, Battlefield 2042 players are desperate for DICE to re-enable full progression in Portal modes.

Reddit user Chief81 began the call, posting to the Battlefield 2042 subreddit: “Please enable XP back to Portal.”

They explained that they don’t care if some players are using the mode to boost as if someone is max level and has everything unlocked, “it does not hurt every other player.” However, they argue that limiting Portal XP negatively affects everyone.

Many others in the comments agreed, saying that even though Portal is their favorite part of Battlefield 2042, they’ve given up on it. They said that getting low XP and no attachment progress removes all incentives to play.

Working on it. https://t.co/7zb93fiJ2i

As for Portal’s XP being re-enabled, a Ripple Effect dev has said that they’re “working on it,” but didn’t provide any timeframe.

Be sure to stay tuned to Charlie INTEL, as we’ll let you know if the developers provide any more updates to Portal’s XP.

Battlefield 2042 players are reporting that their accounts are being banned for absolutely no reason, claiming they haven’t cheated.

The long line of Battlefield 2042 complaints continues as players claim their accounts are getting permanently banned for no reason.

Battlefield 2042 has had a heap of issues since its release back in November 2021. The problems were being reported by players left, right, and center, from map design to a recent invisibility glitch.

Luckily, for those who love the franchise, it does seem the devs are trying their best to respond to the issues and provide updates, however, a new issue may have taken their efforts a few steps back.

Renowned gaming writer and reporter Tom Henderson is often a great source for leaks and inside information regarding games like Battlefield 2042.

Just recently, Tom Henderson reported on Battlefield 2042’s development, revealing a lot of interesting information such as a future battle royale mode.

The most recent reports on Battlefield 2042 involve some pretty bad news for players, as he’s claiming that a lot of players are reporting their accounts being permanently banned even though they have never cheated.

The writer states in a tweet made on December 14 that they have received “about 20 DM’s from people claiming that they’ve been banned in #Battlefield2042 for no reason whatsoever.”

I'm going to need a LOT more data to get to the bottom of this. If you've been banned in #Battlefield2042 and you know you haven't cheated, please DM me ASAP. https://t.co/eLhGsBsCUv

In a follow-up tweet made on December 17, Tom is now asking for more data so that he can get to the bottom of why players are being permanently banned from Battlefield 2042.

So, if you’ve also been banned from Battlefield 2042 and you know for a fact that you haven’t cheated, make sure you send Tom Henderson a direct message on Twitter to help his investigation.

Here’s everything we know about Battlefield 2042’s first season, including the Season 1 release date and content.

Battlefield 2042 will feature four seasons worth of content over its first year, so here’s everything we know about Season 1, including its release date and content.

Almost all multiplayer games have adopted the live service model, adding more content with seasonal updates. Battlefield 2042 will have the same model, “enhancing the Battlefield experience through seasons that will continue to evolve the world of Battlefield 2042.”

Here’s everything we know about Battlefield 2042 Season 1, including its release date and content.

When Battlefield 2042 officially released on November 19, 2021, EA confirmed that we wouldn’t be getting the first season until early 2022. Recently some more information has come to light detailing when players should expect that highly-anticipated debut season.

Trusted Battlefield leaker Temporyal has shared that the Season 1 update is expected for March 2022. This aligns with EA’s initial promise of an early 2022 release window.

The #Battlefield2042 client includes weekly missions for 12 preseason weeks. 🗓️ Season 1 seems to be scheduled for March 2022 (unless they've added a few weeks as "backup"). 🇨🇦 "Exposure" is probably the final name for the previously datamined "Ridge" map. 🎄 Happy Holidays! pic.twitter.com/FBuxapZvjl

The developers said that there will be four seasons across its first year of live service, bringing new Specialists, locations, and more.

For Season 1, we can “expect more details early next year.” Once the devs confirm the exact Season 1 release date, we’ll update this section so be sure to check back in soon.

Battlefield 2042 players can expect a new map via Season 1. The brand new map is called “Exposure” but Temporyal notes that it was previously datamined as “Ridge”. While very little is known about the new map, we do know that it is located in British Columbia, Canada.

Battlefield 2042 devs have also confirmed that Season 1 will bring a Battle Pass, a new Specialist, Portal content, and “maybe even some new sights to see as the story of Battlefield 2042 continues to unfold.”

There’s no way of knowing who the first DLC Specialist will be at this time, but they’ll be bringing new Gadgets and Traits to change how the game is played.

Temporyal’s information also includes the discovery of weekly preseason missions. The Season 1 client is set to bring forth weekly missions for 12 preseason weeks. As of now, there’s no telling what these missions will entail but we’ll be sure to include new information as it comes to light.

Some players were shocked that there are only 22 weapons in the base game at launch, and EA hasn’t suggested that any more will be added as the seasons go on. However, we expect that more weapons are in the pipeline, perhaps arriving as part of the Battle Passes.

And that’s everything we know about Battlefield 2042’s first season! We won’t know more until after the New Year but stay tuned for 2042 news and guides.

FPS fans may be excited to hear that there will be an easy way to play Battlefield 2042 for free, here are all the details.

If you’re interested in giving Battlefield 2042 a try but haven’t got around to buying it, you’re in luck.

Battlefield 2042 hasn’t had the smoothest launch compared to its previous installments, with players complaining about various issues such as bloom, map design, and aim assist.

Despite the poor launch state and player complaints, DICE has been hard at work updating the game to please the community. Just recently, fan-favorite mode Rush was brought back, and players were happy with the inclusion, even wanting it to stay permanently.

With that being said, if you’re interested in giving the game a go but don’t want to spend the money just in case you won’t like it, there’s a free weekend trial coming up.

As of this weekend, starting December 17 and ending after three days, players will be able to download and play Battlefield 2042 for free on Steam.

Unfortunately for those on console, this free-to-play weekend is only available on PC.

Clearly, DICE are hoping that those who get to experience this free weekend may enjoy it enough to actually purchase the game.

Having said that, it’s a shame that the offer isn’t available for those on PlayStation and Xbox.

These communities are huge and could have potentially boosted the game’s ratings and sales if the majority enjoyed the gameplay.

If a similar offer is released again, we’ll make sure to cover it. For more on Battlefield 2042, check out the best SVK loadout.
