Many of us have an array of collections in our homes, be it art or fishing lures, or salt and pepper shakers!
For Boissevain resident, Verna McCausland, collecting model horse sculptures and figurines has been a passion of hers since she was a little girl of 7 or 8 years old. "I started collecting horse figurines when I was in 3rd grade, and as I've gotten older my tastes have just gotten more expensive! I've gotten into making tack and obstacles and all of the things you would associate with a real horse but in miniature."
Most recently McCausland showcased her 500-600 model horse collection in a model horse show in Alberta.
"It was a two-day live model horse show," she explains. "We set our horses up on tables in the show hall, and they're judged as close to real horses as we can. We do halter classes and English and Western and Parade, all of that!"
