Teaching multiplication can be challenging for teachers. There are many methods of teaching times tables. Game-based learning is an effective approach for teaching, practicing, and reviewing multiplication. Some students don't realize how much fun learning math can actually be. The goal of a teacher is for students to be so engaged that they don't realize they are learning. If you are looking for some awesome resources for practicing times tables, you have come to the right place!

What a fun spin on a classic game! In order to play Rock, Paper, and Times Tables you will need multiple students to work in partner pairs of two. You may want to end with a classic game of Rock, Paper, Scissors just for fun!

Times Tables Matching Game & Book by Usborne is an engaging multiplication memory game in which students will turn over cards in search of a match with the correct answer. This is one of my favorite times table matching games to play with children.

Math activity books are very effective resources to practice multiplication skills. You can add a game element by having students race or having them complete activities in a certain order to fulfill a challenge. This is particularly helpful for students that may struggle with multiplication.

Multiplication Bingo is sure to be a hit in your next math class! Active student participation is needed for this game. Also, students will need to have an understanding of times tables prior to playing as it can be pretty fast-paced.

My favorite math exercises at school always included the use of flash cards. There are many math flashcard games you can use to practice times tables skills with students. The extra practice and use of game-based materials are really beneficial for anyone that struggles with times tables.
