Week 4 Injury Report: Seahawks at Lions

2022-10-03 09:21:54 By : Mr. Andy Yang

The Seahawks will head to Detroit with a mostly healthy 53-man roster. Only one player, nickel corner Justin Coleman, is listed as doubtful, while rookie safety Joey Blount is the only player listed as questionable. Coleman has missed the past two games with a calf injury, and if he can't go again on Sunday, that will mean a third straight game for rookie Coby Bryant in the nickel role. Blount has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, though he was able to return to practice this week.

Guard Phil Haynes, who was added to the injury report on Thursday with an ankle injury, has no game status designation, meaning he should be good to go. That's also the case for defensive end Shelby Harris, who is on track to return after missing the past two games.

Detroit, meanwhile, has ruled out five players, including leading rusher D'Andre Swift and leading receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

CB Justin Coleman (calf, did no participate in practice)

S Joey Blount (hamstring, full participation)

DL John Cominsky (wrist, did not participate) G Jonah Jackson (finger, did not participate) K Austin Seibert (right groin, did not participate) WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle, did not participate) RB D'Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder, did not participate)

WR D.J. Chark (ankle, limited participation) WR Josh Reynolds (ankle, limited participation)

Shelby Harris returned to practice after missing the past two games, a good sign the veteran defensive end has a chance to make it back for Sunday's game in Detroit. There were, however, a couple of new names to the injury report, with guard Phil Hayes missing Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, and with defensive end Quinton Jefferson limited due to a foot injury.

Rookie running back Kenneth Walker III was also new to the injury report, though he was a full participant with a shoulder injury.

The Lions saw five players return to practice after sitting out a day earlier, but leading rusher D'Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder) and leading receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) both sat out for a second straight day.

The Seahawks opened their week of preparation for Sunday's game against the Lions with a relatively short injury list. Three players missed practice, with veteran guard Gabe Jackson getting his usual day off, while two players who have been out with injuries, Justin Coleman and Shelby Harris, were again held out.

Harris, who left Seattle's Week 2 game with a glute injury, was away from the team last week due to a family issue, and while he didn't practice Wednesday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said the veteran defensive end is optimistic he'll be ready to go.

"He's anxious to play this week, he thinks he can do it, but he's got to show it," Carroll said.

Two players were limited in practice, receiver Marquise Goodwin (knee) and safety Joey Blount, who has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury.

Detroit's injury list includes several starters who didn't practice Wednesday, including leading rusher D'Andre Swift, who is dealing with ankle and shoulder injuries, and leading receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who injured his ankle in last week's game.
